Returning Prisoner Simulation

The GBCJC hosted a Returning Prison Simulation on November 9, 2011. This event simulated the experience of formerly incarcerated individuals returning to the community. "Yesterday's Prisoners, Today's Community Members" provided a timely opportunity to engage the Greater Barre Community in understanding some of the many challenges faced by returning prisoners as they try to get basic needs met while navigating the criminal justice system. The licensed and field-tested training program was delivered by the Brattleboro Community Justice Center. Members of the public were able to "walk in the shoes" of a returning prisoner.
